RAA NPLSA & WNPLSA Midweek Preview

Tuesday night football rumbles on into another week, with two mouth-watering clashes kicking off tonight with plenty on the line in both the RAA NPLSA and WNPLSA.

Campbelltown City vs Adelaide Olympic
Venue: Steve Woodcock Sports Centre
Date: Tuesday 14 September, 7:30 PM

Before we head onto the final day of NPL minor round football for 2021, we have a huge clash tonight between Campbelltown and Olympic to bring every team level on games played.

Campbelltown rebounded from back-to-back 1-0 defeats with a 3-2 victory over Raiders, with Alexander Mullen’s perfectly timed header over the waiting keeper and Liam Miller’s delightful cross for Antony Piscioneri to tap home helping them over the line.

Christos Pounendis’ powerful header gave Olympic a first-half lead against MetroStars, but it lasted just over a minute as they were held to a 1-1 draw that blocked their passage back into the top six.

A win to the hosts would see them move into outright third and guarantee finals football, while three points to the visitors could potentially see them leapfrog Campbelltown and put them in a strong position to finish in the top six.

NPLSA League

Salisbury Inter vs Adelaide University
Venue: Smith Partners Stadium
Date: Tuesday 14 September, 8:30 PM

Fresh off a massive statement on Saturday just gone, Inter now have the chance to reclaim top spot when they take on Uni tonight at Smith Partners Stadium.

A four-goal first-half blitz blew ladder leaders West off the park in their match that finished 4-1, with a pair of clever Cote Rojas finishes sandwiched by strikes from Dragana Kljajic and Nicole Calder moving Inter to within three points of their opponents with a game in hand.

Uni were unable to take anything from their fixture against NTC, with the 1-0 loss stretching their winless league run to four matches and keeping them just two points above bottom of the ladder Fulham.

Victory to Inter would see them move into first place with four rounds to go, but a win to Uni would put some breathing space between themselves and eighth and bring Comets three points closer in sixth.
