Adelaide Comets vs Adelaide City FC

Due to a late fixture change, Adelaide Comets host Adelaide City tonight at Adelaide City Park. Comets will be looking towards new recruit Georgie Nicola to work her magic and score a few goals past City’s Kendall Jenner. Adelaide City will be out to extend their current 4 point lead at the top of table. Comets though will be out to show the league that they are not here for just one season. with a few more signings to come, Comets will be sure to get some wins on the board and prove the doubters wrong. A shock upset against the league leaders is just what coach tony Mansueto needs to boost his sides energy after they have been so close in many matches this season. Having lost 4 of their 7 matches this season by 1 goal, Comets will be out to show that they can last the full 90 against top opposition.

FFSA NTC vs Salisbury Inter

Salisbury Inter will look to continue their breakout season in the WNPL with another win over league battlers, FFSA NTC. NTC has improved every week since Round 1, even notching up a 3-0 win over West Adelaide in Round 8. FFSA would have been under the pump at training this week, ensuring they will be capable of stopping the powerhouses of Emily Condon and Nicole Calder. Salisbury Inter will look to continue to climb the ladder. Currently sitting with 19 points, Inter has already gotten more points this season, than their total finishing points for their previous two WNPL seasons. Coach Tracey Jenkins will look to continue reshaping this team into a final’s contender with a win over the NTC. NTC, however, will be sure to show the league why they are the best young talent in the state and look for their second upset in as many weeks come tonight.

The second doubleheader of the weekend will see Fulham play host to ‘double-header debutants’ Adelaide University. With Fulham recently boosting their squad with W-League and AFLW star player, Jenna Mccormick, the team will be looking to climb from the bottom of the table. Adelaide Uni started the season phenomenally well only losing one game in their opening 5 matches. However, the squad has had 3 consecutive losses, not being on the winner’s side since early April. They will be out there on Saturday to close the gap to the top 4 and ensure finals is still on the cards for season 2019. Fulham will look to their experience this weekend to boost their young squad and prove why they are a powerhouse club in women’s football.

Metro United WFC vs West Adelaide
Venue: TK Shutter Reserve

Metro United play host in one of two doubleheaders this Mother’s Day weekend. This much-anticipated fixture between Metro and West will take place after the Men’s NPL fixture. The last time these two teams met at TK Shutter reserve in June 2018, Metro ran out 2-1 victors. However, with TK showing off their new synthetic pitch, the match is there for anyone’s taking. West Adelaide will be out for redemption after their 2-1 loss to Metro in Round 3. Metro, however, will aim to close the gap to league leaders Adelaide City, and a loss will give some breathing space to City. Metro has Laura Stockdale and Kristy Moore who has been in red hot form in recent weeks putting the West Adelaide defence on high alert. West Adelaide though has Georgia Macri showing her talent by scoring goals for fun this season. with Olivia Beer back in as number 1 keeper for Metro, she will be tested on Saturday Night.
