Represented Australia as a Player and South Australia as a Player and Coach also officiated as Chairman and Executive Council Member of the SASFA and was a member of many committees including Chairman of the Ground Leasing Committee. Had Memorial Gates at Hindmarsh Stadium named after him in recognition of his service to the game
