
Football South Australia (FSA) is proud to offer Life Membership as a prestigious honor, recognising individuals whose service to the sport has been extraordinary and far-reaching. This accolade is reserved for those who have significantly contributed to the growth and success of football, not just within a single club, but across the broader landscape of the sport.
Criteria for Life Membership
To be considered for Life Membership, nominees must meet one or more of the following criteria:
Players:
- Men: Played at least 20 recognised games for a senior men's state representative team or senior Australian men's team, or 300 recognised games in the senior men's state league.
- Women: Played at least 20 recognised games for a senior women's state representative team or senior Australian women's team, or 225 recognised games in the senior women's state league.
Coaches:
- Coached at least 20 recognised games for senior men's/women's state representative teams or senior Australian teams, or 375 recognised games in the senior men's/women's state league.
Officials:
- Officiated at least 375 recognised games in the senior men's or women's state league or senior Australian teams.
Board Members:
- Served on the FSA Board of Directors/Commissioners for eight full years.
Committee Members:
- Served on FSA Standing Committees, Zone Committees, or in an official FSA position for at least 15 years.
Combination of Services:
- A combination of the above criteria, or other exceptional contributions as recognised by the FSA Board.
Benefits for Life Members
Successful nominees will receive:
- A commemorative memento of their induction, presented at an annual FSA event.
- The privilege to attend the Annual General Meeting each year.
How to Nominate
1. Application Form
- To nominate someone for Life Membership, the nominator must complete the official form, detailing the nominee's exceptional contributions. The completed form should be submitted to Football South Australia.
2. Evaluation Process
- Life Membership Committee Review: The FSA Awards and Honour Committee, a sub-committee of the FSA Board, reviews each nomination. The committee may request additional information to aid their evaluation.
- Board Consideration: The FSA Board reviews the committee's recommendations and decides whether to present each nominee to the Members for consideration.
- Member Voting: If recommended by the Board, nominees are presented to Members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). A two-thirds majority vote by Members present is required for admission to Life Membership.
