Football Federation SA is delighted to announce a new pre-season cup for its WNPL teams which kicks off 31st January.
VALO Parks Football Centre will host 3 rounds, with the top two to play for the trophy along with third and fourth locking horns to finalise a Finals Day on Thursday 21st February.
The tournament will give clubs an opportunity to put their teams through pre-season with more competitive football and a chance to showcase new signings.
Firas Shahin, Women’s Competition Coordinator at FFSA is hopeful the tournament will be a massive aid to clubs as they prepare for 2019.
The purpose of the Pre-Season Cup is to allow maximum playing time for our Elite Women. The Pre-Season Cup eliminates the pressure on clubs to organise trial matches and finding suitable venues in the off-season. Through this tournament, each club will play 3-4 matches, all fighting for the trophy. The Pre-Season Cup will allow clubs to prepare for the 2019 WNPL season on world class pitches, against top opposition and be well prepared when the season begins on March 8."
Entry to all matches will be FREE of charge.
