The largest ever ALDI MiniRoos Club Football Season kicked off last weekend!
A total of 40 leagues which includes 35 boys & mixed leagues will cater for age groups U6's to U11's got underway on across the weekend which sees thousands of girls and boys across South Australia participate in organised football.
In our biggest season ever, a total of 370 FFSA ALDI MiniRoos teams will lace up and play the game each weekend.
Each of the leagues will have 20 rounds and will conclude late September this year.
Football Federation SA is delighted to see an additional 21 teams, including 12 girls only teams along with an extra girl only league for the 2019 season.
Gala Days for U6's and U7's will take place in Rounds 4, 8, 12 and 16 respectively.
Women’s Competition Coordinator, Firas Shahin is excited to see the girl's program grow, especially during the FIFA Women's World Cup year.
The recent success of the Matildas and the growth of our WNPL competition has been fantatsic in raising the profile of girls footall in South Australia.
The ALDI MiniRoos Girls Only program initiated by our Game Development team has also played a significant role in the increase in girls participation.
With the FIFA Women's World Cup taking place in France this year, and the 2023 AusBid campaign, female football is heading for a massive year and we are really excited to be a part of it.
