FFA Cup Preliminary Rounds SA – Club Registration Now Open

Football Federation SA is pleased to confirm that registrations are now open for clubs to participate in the next FFA Cup.

The registration process is open to all clubs from affiliated associations. Clubs must fill out a 2019 FFA Cup Club Registration Form by Friday 22nd February 2019.

Entry to the competition is $300 plus GST per club.

Last season's FFA Cup had the largest ever representation from South Australia, with a total of 53 teams. It's anticipated that number will increase for this year's competition.

SA's Adelaide Comets were crowned SA champions last year, progressing all the way to the Round of 16.

It was a great tournament last season with 772 teams across Australia competing, with SA's Adelaide United eventually being crowned champions with a 2-1 victory over Sydney FC at Coopers Stadium on 30 October 2018.

FFSA Senior Men’s Football Manager, George Georganas, is excited about this year's competition.

2019 is set to be our biggest year yet with an expected record number of teams participating in the South Australian Preliminary Rounds of the FFA Cup.

Last year was the first to include clubs from the South Australian Amateur Soccer League with some key matches attracting bumper crowds to witness whether the best of the amateurs could match it against the semi-professional teams.

Adelaide Comets did us proud last year, defeating Gwelup Croatia 4-0 in Perth before being eliminated by a strong Heidelberg United of Victoria 4-0 in front 1,500 people at West Beach Shores Football Centre.

The FFA Cup South Australia Preliminary Round Cup Final will this year take place on the weekend of 21-23rd June.
