Bickford’s Boost for Football SA Clubs as Training Resumes

Monday 18 May 2020

As club’s return to training for the first time since March following the suspension of activities due to the impact of COVID-19, South Australian based company the Bickford’s Group of Companies has given grassroots clubs and associations across South Australia a timely boost, with more than 10,000 bottles of hand sanitiser to be provided free of charge.

The Bickford’s Group began manufacturing hand sanitiser in March, initially through the need to keep their own workers safe.

It then escalated production after the Queensland government approached the South Aussie business to address their state’s shortage of the product.

The alcohol for the sanitiser was produced in Queensland at the historic Beenleigh Distillery, which is a Bickford’s Group asset, and the sanitiser has been bottled in Adelaide.

Football South Australia CEO Michael Carter welcomed Bickford’s support of local clubs.

The support of proud South Australian company Bickfords’s Group is fantastic and is applauded by the Football Family. The partnership further illustrates our ability as a code to adhere to requirements outlined by SA Health as we prepare for a return to competitions. Keeping our 35,000 plus registered players safe by arming our 300 clubs with hand sanitising products could only have been made possible with the help from Bickford’s."

Bickford’s Group International Sales Manager Simon Sparrow said:

As an independently owned South Australian company we wanted to support not only the Football SA Men’s & Women’s Premier League but more importantly grassroots football in the State. We’re proud to play our part in assisting clubs getting back to training and a return to playing in the near future.”

Clubs will also be able to purchase additional sanitiser to keep their members safe throughout this period at a discounted rate.

All Football SA clubs and members will be able to purchase Safe Hands Sanitiser refills from www.sippify.com.au at a discounted rate in gel and liquid going forward. A promotional code will be provided to all clubs that we encourage you to share with all members.

Clubs will be able to pick up their allocation of sanitiser in the next week. Further information will be provided to club representatives at the earliest convenience.
