Casual Coaches Required for 2019
Football Federation SA is recruiting casual coaches for a brand new after-school football program launching in January 2019.
Football in Schools (FIS) is an introductory after-school program that is coordinated by the State governing body (FFSA) for children in primary schools across South Australia. This program is aimed at engaging children in physical activity through football in a bid to make children more physically active while promoting a safe, fun and inclusive environment.
FFSA is looking for players, current coaches and passionate volunteers to apply to become a paid Football In Schools Coach. FFSA also provides coaches with the training and source equipment for them to deliver an innovative program.
ALDI MiniRoos Development Officer Jake Brindley is excited to strengthen the pathway from our schools to clubs.
"Football In Schools has been designed to build greater ties with our local school communities across South Australia. Through engaging our local club coaches and the football community, we will strive to create a clear pathway between local school programs and clubs in the region. Creating strong community links with our local schools and clubs will create a vehicle of change for developing our game and bringing in new participants to club football."
The number one goal at FFSA is to increase participation in the game, resulting in an increase in the number of players playing for clubs. Current players will have the opportunity to wear their team's apparel while coaching, showcasing their club and encouraging participants to join their club.
