The match was preceded by a successful MiniRoos Gala Day which saw 600 through the gate to witness and participate.

Dylan Holmes scored in the 40th minute, bringing the half-time score to 3-0, with City holding a strong advantage over West Adelaide going into the second half.

Adelaide City’s dominance in the first half was reflected by the scoreline, with West Adelaide struggling to keep up with the strong side.

The first goal for the second half came in the 61st minute. Georgia Macri scored West Adelaide’s first, and only, goal for the evening, providing West Adelaide with some much-needed encouragement.

City’s Chelsie Dawber received a yellow card in the 63rd minute, however, this didn’t stop her momentum. Only minutes later, West Adelaide took another hit after Chelsie Dawber scored her second, and City’s fourth, goal for the match, in the 68th minute.

The fate of the game was all but sealed when Chelsie Dawber scored another two goals, one in the 76th minute, and the other in the 84th.

The match came to an end shortly after, with City proving too strong for West Adelaide.

Despite being leading goal scorer of the night with four goals, Chelsie Dawber missed out on Player of the Match, with it being awarded instead to City’s Nanako Sasaki.
