City to host A-League opposition in FFA Cup Round of 32 while Olympic travel to WA

Adelaide City will host either Perth Glory or Melbourne Victory in the FFA Cup Round of 32 after the Thursday night draw was completed live on YouTube.

The last time The Black & Whites played A-League opposition in the FFA Cup was back in 2014, when they defeated Western Sydney Wanderers 1-0 on a famous night at Marden.

Adelaide City captain Matthew Halliday said the City squad are looking forward to the challenge and the potential of meeting an old friend.

We're all very excited and looking forward to the challenge. To have the chance to knock-off an A League side is an exciting prospect for us.

I don't think we are too fussed who we draw out of Perth or Victory, but it would be fun to play against ex team mate Carlo Armiento (Perth Glory).

Adelaide Olympic will be making a trip to Western Australia to face ECU Joondalup, as is Adelaide United FC who will do battle with Floreat Athena.

For the first time, the FFA Cup has a 'Zone' format for the Round of 32, meaning more local rivalries in the Round of 32.

And then from the Round of 16 onwards, the draw is completely open, making the Cup as unpredictable and exciting as ever.
