Coronavirus (COVID-19) The purpose of this circular is to provide the members of Football Federation Australia (FFA) with information resources in relation to COVID-19 (Coronavirus).

You will be aware of the developing outbreak of the Coronavirus. While the number of confirmed cases in Australia is growing, the Australian Government has advised that there is no cause for alarm, with the risk to the Australian public remaining relatively low at this stage.

FFA is committed to ensuring that all Members have access to information on the Coronavirus in order to address the challenges posed by it. To that end, we encourage all Members to refer to the dedicated COVID-19 website that has been created by the Australian Institute of Sport – see www.ais.gov.au/health-wellbeing/covid-19. The webpage contains an overview of the currently available information on Coronavirus and specific advice relevant to sport.

We also encourage all Members to visit www.health.gov.au for advice, information and resources or call the National Coronavirus Health Information Line on 1800 020 080.

If you are travelling internationally, please consult with www.smartraveller.gov.au/news-andupdates/coronavirus-covid-19 for the latest information and advice for safe travel overseas.

We recommend that all participants follow the Australian Government’s guidelines as to how to reduce the risk of getting Coronavirus. All participants are encouraged to use thorough handwashing techniques and anti-bacterial hand gels - please refer to this link for more details: www.who.int/gpsc/clean_hands_protection/en/. We also recommend that participants reassess how they greet people on a day-to-day basis and how they can minimise contact with other participants in and around the football field.

FFA will continue to monitor the development of the Coronavirus and provide you with additional information as appropriate.

Yours sincerely

James Johnson
Chief Executive Officer
