COVID-19 Update | JULY 27 | Football to Return To Training

Football South Australia has tonight been advised from the Office for Recreation Sport and Racing of the following.

As of 12:01 am on Wednesday 28 July 2021, South Australia will be coming out of the 7-day lockdown.

The Emergency Management (Activities – Associated Direction No 5)(COVID-10) Direction 2021 have been released and are to operate as an appendix to the Emergency Management (Activities – General No 3) (COVID-19) Direction 2021.

The Directions will come into effect 12:01 am on Wednesday 28 July with implications for the sport and recreation industry.

A summary of these changes is listed below:

  • 1/4 density (1 person per 4 square metres).
  • No communal consumption facilities.
  • Seated food and beverage consumption only.
  • COVID Management Plan: events of more than 1,000 people and outdoors only.

 

Sport

  • School, team and club sport training that does not involve interaction with other schools, teams or clubs is permitted. Masks are not required when physically exerting. 
  • Sports spectators are only permitted to be present as a caregiver for a participant at training - only 1 caregiver per participant is permitted and must be wearing a mask.
  • Masks are required for shared indoor public places (i.e. club rooms, fitness centres).
  • Masks are required for health care services and therefore must be worn by providers and patients (i.e. club physiotherapy, sports trainers, doctors).
  • Mandatory use of QR Code check-ins.

 

Fitness & swimming pools

  • 1/8 density (1 per 8 square metres) for indoor fitness facilities*.
  • Individuals must remain separated at a reasonable distance from each other – as far as reasonably practicable.
  • Masks required for indoor fitness facilities and swimming pools (except while exercising). 
  • Masks required for trainers/instructors/leaders (except while exercising). 
  • Mandatory use of QR Code check-ins.

 

*Indoor fitness facility means gymnasiums, health clubs, fitness centres, yoga, barre and spin facilities, dance and Pilates studios and swimming pools (other than swimming pools being used for rehabilitation purposes authorised by a health or disability practitioner).

 

COVID Marshals are required for:

  • Gyms/Fitness Centres/Swimming Pools.
  • All public activities.

 

COVID Safe Plan required for a defined public activity unless a COVID Management Plan is in place.

 

COVID Management Plan is required for an event where there are more than 1000 people present.
