FFSA program aims to boost number of female coaches

Football Federation SA (FFSA) has just held its first female-only Asian Football Confederation C-licence coaching course.

The ABC's Loukas Founten recently spoke to FFSA's Head of Game Development, John Mundy about the initiative,

"There's a lot of interest in the women's game from the excellent job the Matildas have done, and certainly at the local level as well, and it cries out as the game's growing for the female coaching base to grow as well,"

"It's part of a two-year project where our focus and priority is female coaching," Mr Mundy said.

Former Adelaide United player Cristiano Dos Santos is the program director for the course and is also acting as a mentor along with 2017 FFA Female Community Coach of the Year Marie Spagnolletti and former Matilda Tracey Jenkins. All three have provided a wealth of knowledge to the individuals involved in the course.
