On Wednesday 3rd May, FA Women’s Technical Director and CommBank Junior Matildas Coach Rae Dower and her coaching team conducted FA elite match to identify potential national players and deliver workshops to further develop parent coach and player development.
The elite match at ServiceFM Stadium, Gepps Cross, featured over 40 South Australian female players aged between 14-17
Girls Youth Development Manager, Debbie Fisher, also delivered a workshop to parents - focusing on growth and maturation to help holistic development in young people.
On Thursday, Mikayla Lyons (U17 CommBank Junior Matildas Strength and Conditioning Coach) delivered a workshop to FSA coaches outlining the effective use of GPS Data in football.
Rae Dower said:
"I was excited to see the progress that the program and players have made since my last visit last year. The quality of the 2 Elite Matches was to a very high standard and Mike, Cristiano and all the staff should be really excited about what lies ahead for this group.
I look forward to coming back again in a couple of months."
Michael Cooper said:
“It was great to host FA and work together to provide yet another development experience for our players, coaches and parents. There are improvements year on year and we are excited to see this impacted by the FIFA Women’s World Cup which is on our shores later this year.”
