Football Federation SA to launch new Regional Centre of Excellence in Mount Gambier

Football Federation SA (FFSA) is delighted to announce the trial dates for its new football Regional Centre of Excellence which launches next week.

The Regional Centre’s vision is to provide year-round opportunities for local youth to experience expert coaching based on the FFA curriculum in a fun, engaging and nurturing environment; igniting the passion for football within the community and forming foundations for professional pathways.

The Regional Centre of Excellence will be run by FFSA accredited coaches who, at a minimum, hold an AFC ‘C’ Youth License. Nathan Fleetwood, will be running the program in Mount Gambier and is excited about what the centre will achieve.

“Having moved to the region in 2017, I quickly discovered what a dedicated, passionate sporting community the Limestone Coast has. I am thrilled to be able to apply my knowledge and experience as the game continues to grow in popularity and skill within the region.

Given the increasing popularity of football and a strong pool of committed, passionate players and coaches, the academy will be instrumental in further enhancing football opportunities for the community. Players will have the opportunity to improve both technically and tactically in a supportive environment based on the FFA National Curriculum, preparing them for their future ambitions in the sport.”

FFSA CEO Michael Carter is looking forward to giving more opportunities to players on the Limestone Coast.

“FFSA is proud to launch a Regional Centre of Excellence in Mount Gambier that will give more opportunities for local players to learn in a fun and challenging environment. The Regional Centre will also provide more pathways for those who participate in the program.

We are also excited that Nathan Fleetwood will provide his great coaching knowledge and expertise to improve the quality of our regional players on the Limestone Coast.”
