Football SA Country Futsal Championships makes welcome return

On Monday 5 July 2021, Berri welcomed the much-anticipated return of the Football SA Country Futsal Championships. 

The Riverland hosted the Championships for the second time (previously 2019), with the 2021 addition featuring nearly 100 players across 17 teams; boys and girls from Under 10’s through to Under 17’s.

Yorke Peninsula were represented by two teams and showed magnificent support for the day. 

The Football SA Country Futsal Championships provide regional futsal associations with the opportunity to participate annually against various associations. In addition to this players are identified to attend state trials in Adelaide later in the year with the potential for selection for Football SA State Futsal teams to participate at the Football Australia National Futsal Championships to be held in January the following year.

The Football SA Country Futsal Championships also provide an opportunity for match officials both locally and from metro Adelaide to continue their futsal referee development and potential pathway toward Football Australia National Futsal Championships.

The 2021 Football SA Country Futsal Championships were a great success and we look forward now to the Football SA July School Holiday Carnival, Football SA Academies, State Trials and Summer Competitions.
