Football SA State Futsal teams get in gear for Canberra

Football SA’s State Futsal teams have been active in their preparations for the FFA National Futsal Championships.

The State Futsal Carnival was hosted at the redeveloped St Clair Recreation Centre on Friday, with 11 State Futsal teams involved in an internal Round-Robin Carnival. The format was a combination of junior Boys and Girls, and AWD (Athletes with Disabilities) players all competing against each other to improve on their preparations.

With 25 games played it was a big day for our State Futsal teams, with all 110 players eager to improve and impress as preparations ramped up in a bid for a successful tournament come January.

Alex Sunasky, Football SA’s Futsal Coordinator knows the importance of such opportunities prior to intense championship Futsal.

Friday provided the 11 teams the opportunity to compete and fine tune against each other, as we are now 3 weeks out from the FFA National Futsal Championships.

It provides all of our players, coaches, team managers and match officials, who will be representing South Australia at the Nationals, a similar environment as possible for preparation in readiness for their first matches come Monday 13 January 2020.

We again look to not only be competitive across all age groups but look to progress on last year’s showing, with the aim on having teams compete in the Final and hopefully winning the nationals.”
