Football SA – West Adelaide Appeal

West Adelaide SC were issued with a Disciplinary Infringement Notice following their Round 16 State League 1 match against Eastern United on Monday, 9 August 2021 for playing a player which was suspended due to mandatory yellow card accumulation. Football SA issued a three (3) goal to nil (0) forfeit to Eastern United and fined West Adelaide SC in accordance with the Rules and Regulations.

The determination of Football SA was appealed by West Adelaide SC and the matter was heard by the independent Disciplinary and Appeals Committee (DAC).

The independent DAC has today determined to uphold the appeal of West Adelaide SC resulting in the original match result standing (2 - 0 win to West Adelaide SC).

Football SA respects the work the DAC provides to the organisation and would like to reaffirm their independence to the organisation but is perplexed by this determination. As a result, Football SA is considering the matter further and are seeking advice from Football Australia.

The ruling and the application of the rule has been consistently applied across all Football SA competitions.

The State League 1 table was not updated when Football SA issued its Disciplinary Infringement Notice to West Adelaide SC. The table is correct as currently displayed on the Football SA website.
