Suspension of Football SA Competitions

Football South Australia released a memo to all clubs and associations on Monday 16 March outlining a 14-day suspension of Football South Australia coordinated competitions. The suspension covered the following;

  1. National Premier League Senior, Reserves and Under 18 
  2. Women’s National Premier League Senior and Reserves
  3. State League 1 & 2 Senior, Reserves and Under 18
  4. FFA Cup Preliminary Round 1
  5. Women’s Division 1-6
  6. Junior Premier and State League
  7. Mini Roos Competitions and Gala Days

Football Federation Australia have held a series of meetings overnight and today with Member Federations and the FFA Board of Directors. As a result, FFA have determined that all organised football activities (including training) will be suspended from Wednesday 18 March. The suspension will continue until 14 April. 

Football South Australia advises that the national direction will be followed as agreed by all Member Federations on Tuesday 17 March. 

To clarify the resolution – Football South Australia agrees to suspend all organised football activities until 14 April, 2020. 

As stated in the memo released Monday 16 March, Football South Australia intends to use the period of suspension to further consult with its clubs and associations, health experts, government and the FFA’s national framework. 

Football South Australia will keep all stakeholders informed of further developments.
