Gawler Eagles SC presented with $2,000 NAB Club Recognition Award

FFSA State League 2 Club, Gawler Eagles SC have been granted a $2,000 NAB Club Recognition Award on the back of some stunning performances from Adelaide United midfielder, Riley McGree.

McGree's impressive Hyundai A-League form was even capped with a call-up to the recent Socceroos matches against Iraq in Tehran and the United Arab Emirates in Sydney.

Riley was March's nominee for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award and as part of this, NAB donates a financial contribution to Riley’s nominated junior Club and a range of equipment.

“Being nominated for this award is a great honour. Every player wants to achieve the best they can,” McGree said after learning of his nomination.

“I really wasn’t expecting to be playing a significant role this season, but I appreciate the chance to prove myself at the highest level,” McGree said.

The Hyundai A-League NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2016/17 will be announced at the Dolan Warren Awards Night.

Each month representatives from the FFA Technical department vote on a 3-2-1 basis for the most outstanding U-23 players in the Hyundai A-League during that period.
