Kite flies to his double Milestone

Football SA congratulates Match Official Andrew Kite on reaching 100 NPL Matches and 150 Senior Matches this weekend. Kite becomes the first Football SA Match Official to reach a double milestone on the same weekend.

Kite will reach his 150th Senior Match where he takes to the middle when South Adelaide takes on Modbury Jets Friday Night

Kite began his officiating journey in 2008 with Noarlunga and Districts. He later transitioned to Football SA in 2012 where in his first year he was the recipient of the Referee Rising Star which is awarded to the upcoming youth Referees at the Celebration of Football. Since then, Kite has been a part of some big games including the 2014 U18’s NPL Grand Final and several NPLSA and Federation Cup finals as an Assistant Referee.

He will reach his 150th Senior Match where he takes to the middle when South Adelaide takes on Modbury Jets Friday Night. He will then reach his NPL AR milestone on Saturday evening in the match between FK Beograd and Para Hills Knights at Frank Mitchell Park.

When reflecting on his double milestone, Andrew has this to say:

“Reaching the milestone of 100 matches as an assistant referee in the NPL is a significant moment for me after many seasons of hard work. Football has given me many exciting opportunities and it would not be possible without the support of my refereeing colleagues on and off the field”.

General Manager for Referee Education/Training Michelle Smith commented on the Milestone.

"Congratulations to Andrew Kite for his outstanding dedication and commitment to the game, evident in his achievement of 100 NPL AR roles and 150 senior games. A true role model for aspiring referees in SA. Wishing him the very best for this special weekend, and for his continued success and growth in officiating his career.

Football SA wishes Andrew all the best in these matches this weekend!
