Kur Kur sends City top of the pile | RAA NPLSA Round 7 Goals Wrap

Adelaide City claimed top spot on the NPL ladder after seven rounds as they came from behind to defeat MetroStars 3-1 on Saturday.

After a goalless first half, the match exploded into life in the 56th minute when Kalilou Kamara broke the deadlock for MetroStars, scrambling home from a corner to make it 1-0 to the visitors.

Their lead lasted just over a minute, however, as City’s Kur Kur kept the ball in close contact past several defenders before sweeping a low shot into the bottom corner past the diving keeper to level the scores.

City went ahead in the 71st minute, as Nicholas Bucco completed a quick one-two in the box with Kur and slid his shot underneath the keeper to finish a well-worked move for the Black and Whites.

Kur rounded out the victory on 76 minutes with his second of the match, pouncing on a loose ball in the box and rounding the keeper to slot home and cap off a 3-1 win to the hosts.

Campbelltown City eased past Cumberland United 4-0 to mark their third win in a row and Adelaide Olympic and South Adelaide picked up important away wins over Sturt Lions and Croydon Kings respectively.

A late penalty saw Adelaide Blue Eagles salvage a 1-1 draw against Adelaide Comets to pick up their first point of 2021, while the points were also shared between Adelaide Croatia Raiders and Adelaide United.
