This is exciting news for women’s football in South Australia. The introduction of the WSL Reserve League will create more opportunities for our young players. I would like to thank the Women’s State League and Women’s National Premier League clubs for their ongoing commitment in creating a pathway for their players. After such an exciting Women’s World Cup on home soil, I am confident that we will see more young girls play football and now they have an opportunity to continue their pathway to elite football in South Australia.

The local clubs currently in the Go Sunny Solar Women’s National Premier League and Go Sunny Solar Women’s State League continue to show their commitment to the growth and development of girls and women’s football. The introduction of the Go Sunny Solar WSL Reserve League will result in fixture alignment and create increased player pathway development opportunities.

"On the back for the Women's World Cup and as part of Football South Australia's ongoing commitment to its Legacy Plan, we're delighted to see an expansion of the existing league, which will no doubt create additional pathways for Women and Girls to play football in South Australia."
