If less than 64 teams register for the Australia Cup, teams will commence the competition from Round 3. RAA National Premier League teams will be seeded for the first round only and will be drawn last if required.
Draw
A draw shall be undertaken by Football SA with the participating clubs invited to attend for each round of the Cup. The name of each club involved in the competition shall be placed into the draw. Teams will be drawn out one at a time to determine the fixture.
The first team drawn out will be the home team, the second team to be drawn out, will be the away team.
Where bye or byes are required, teams will be drawn out until all fixtures are filled. Any team/s remaining will be allocated to the bye/s.
Federation Cup
At the completion of the Australia Cup Preliminary Rounds SA Qualifying Final, the competition name will revert to the Football SA Federation Cup. Football Australia confirmed in 2019 that South Australia would receive two (2) Member Federation spots in the Australia Cup Final Rounds. The two (2) teams to progress to the Australia Cup Round of 32 will be the two teams that progress through to the Federation Cup Final.
