West Adelaide and Adelaide Olympic face-off at VALO on Friday night in what’s been known as the 'Hellenic Derby.'
After a slow start to its 2019 campaign, a win for West Adelaide will bring them just 1 point behind Olympic, who started the season strongly with an unbeaten run of 5 games. However, West Adelaide suffered a 4-1 loss at MetroStars last weekend. A Jaiden Diamantis equaliser just before half time turned out to be a mere consolation after MetroStars put 3 past Lewis Moss in the West Adelaide net.
Olympic is still without a win since Round 3 and will be kicking themselves after throwing away a 2 goal lead in the last ten minutes to a stubborn Para Hills side. An in-form Fausto Erba put Olympic in front with two clever finishes, before Knights shared the spoils with two goals from Mohammad Sumaoro.
Football Federation SA welcomes Victorian referee Kate Jacewicz who will be officiating tonight’s clash, as she prepares for the FIFA Women's World Cup in France next month. Kate is one of three Australian Officials to officiate at the Tournament.

Adelaide City welcomes MetroStars to Oakden in a Friday night showdown.
City finds themselves in dangerous territory at the foot of the ladder with just 3 points and will be looking desperately to get a home win to see them within touching distance of the teams above them.
MetroStars, on the other hand, come off the back of two wins on the spin. After a tough opening few weeks of the season, the Klemzig based club have done extremely well to stay in the chase after playing all but one of their matches away from home. MetroStars returned to their upgraded fortress on Saturday with a great 4-1 win over a struggling West Adelaide. Dylan Smith scoring the pick of the bunch with a clever lob after 15 minutes to send them on their way to 3 points.
Adelaide City though has now lost 3 on the spin after a difficult trip to Jack Smith Park last weekend, suffering a tough 5-0 loss to a counterattacking Comets side.
Michael Mattricciani’s side now finds themselves in a genuine relegation battle now and are in danger of going down for the first time since 1947. But with the side still in transition, adapting to a new system and key players still overseas (Elliot Green), the Black and Whites now more than ever will be looking for unity in the dressing room.

Adelaide United Youth striker, Ninko Beric, is confident of causing an upset against league leaders Adelaide Blues Eagles at the VALO Football Centre on Saturday.
Adelaide will be looking to respond from consecutive 3-1 losses against Adelaide Comets and South Adelaide respectively.
Beric highlighted the importance of collecting three points to climb up the ladder having dropped to sixth.
“Two bad results in the last two rounds means it’s very important because we need to get up to where we want to be,” Beric claimed.
“And that’s up the top and three points are needed.”
Beric attributed the pair of defeats to a combination of issues both defensively and offensively.
“(We’ve) simply conceded soft goals and also not taking our chances,” he said.
“That’s just the bottom line and I feel if we come on Saturday with a winning mentality and know the roles that Pez (Paul Pezos) has given us, we’ll get the three points on Saturday.”
Meanwhile, Blue Eagles have been the revelation of the year after gaining promotion at the end of last season. They incredibly occupy first place and boast the stingiest defence in the competition, most recently edging Raiders 1-0.
Beric said if the Young Reds carry a strong mindset into the game there is no reason why they cannot secure the win.
“Obviously Blue Eagles are top of the table and playing very well,” he said.
“It’s going to be a tough game, but I believe if we come on Saturday and play our game… we’ll come away with the three points.”
The young talisman has been entrusted to lead the line of late and knows that he must be clinical whenever a chance presents itself.
“I feel like I’ve been playing relatively well, giving it my all for the team,” he continued.
“Obviously I just need to finish more of my chances that I get.
“If I get a lot if I get a few. I just need to finish anything I can get.”

Para Hills Knights welcome South Adelaide to The Paddocks on Saturday in a classic ‘six-pointer.’
The home side is going about their business quietly, with a steady recent run of form of 2 wins and 2 draws in their last 4 games to see them jump out of the relegation zone and still in touching distance of the top 6.
Para Hills came back from the dead in their last game against Olympic, with Mohammad Sumaoro scoring twice in the last 10 minutes to secure a dramatic comeback to earn a 2-2 draw.
The Panthers though will have their tails wagging after finally getting their first three points of the campaign with an excellent 3-1 win at home to Adelaide United FC. A tasty encounter awaits on Saturday afternoon at Steve Woodcock as 2nd place Comets visits the champions Campbeltown City.
Comets are on fire, winning five on the spin, scoring 15 goals in the process. Comets where lethal last weekend with their counter-attacking, smashing Adelaide City 5-0 at Jack Smith Park. Andrea Wiens and Allan Welsh both with two goals each, with Wiens slotting home the pick of the bunch with a clever turn and finish in stoppage time to bring his season tally to 8 goals, putting the German top of the goal scorers ladder.
The Red Devils though are also in good form, picking up 11 points out of a possible 15 in their last five outings.
The NPL Champs grabbed all three points at Polonia Reserve last weekend, winning 3-2 over Croydon Kings. The game though produced a controversial talking point, after Marc Marino’s goal just after the half-hour mark not making it into the Goal of the Week vote after many still undecided whether his rifling strike was a shot or indeed a cross. Raiders vs Croydon Kings

Raiders take on Croydon Kings at Croatian Sports Centre on Saturday evening in what looks to become an even contest with both teams in a similar position.
However, this season’s surprise package, Raiders, will be looking to put aside the last two straight defeats against MetroStars and Blue Eagles respectfully, as they aim to keep up with the chasing pack at the top of the table.
The home side will be looking to UK striker Terrence Carter to resume his sublime early season form in front of goal, with Raiders failing to score in their last 2 games.
Meanwhile, Croydon is still looking for their first win since Round 2 and have also lost their last two games. ‘Polonia’ going down 3-2 at home to Campbelltown City last weekend in a topsy-turvy game. Kerrin Stokes and James Skeffington on the scoresheet for Kings.
With the middle of the league incredibly tight, this game will be a very interesting one with an opportunity for both teams to be in the top 6 by the end of the weekend.
