West Adelaide vs Adelaide Comets
Venue: Adelaide City Park
Date: 25/05/2019 03:00 PM

West Adelaide welcomes Adelaide Comets in neutral territory at Adelaide City Park on Saturday afternoon.

West Adelaide finds themselves in a relegation dog fight but have their heads held high after thier last gasp equaliser against Adelaide Olympic last weekend. Matthew Bouraee calmly sliding the ball home to give his side their first point in 5 games.

Adelaide Comets do come into the game on the back of a tough 3-0 loss away at NPL Champions Campbelltown City and will be looking to keep the pressure on the top two with a win this afternoon.

Adelaide Blue Eagles vs Campbelltown City
Venue: Marden Sports Complex
Date: 25/05/2019 03:00 PM

It's 1st vs 2nd at Marden Sports Complex this afternoon as Adelaide Blue Eagles welcomes the NPL champs Campbelltown City to Marden in a derby steeped in history.

The pair met in Round 1 which turned out to be a classic encounter. Blue Eagles that night scoreing twice late on to set the car amongst the pigeons. Since then, Blue Eagles have lost just one game.

Meanwhile, Campbeltown City will see this as a fantastic oportunity to jump to the top of the ladder with win. The Red Devils have a slight superior goal difference, so a win would see the current holders go to the top of the league.

Blue Eagles had a difficult task in overcoming a stubborn Adelaide United side last weekend but were eventually victorious as 1-0 winners, thanks to a Evan Kounavelis goal right on half-time.

Campbelltown City had a huge win at home to also in form Adelaide Comets. A sublime free-kick from Iain Fyfe, a glorious header from Alex Mullen and a late strike from Deon Kirk secured all three points at Steve Woodcock to give the side a third win on the bounce.

Adelaide United FC vs Raiders
Venue: VALO Football Centre
Date: 25/05/2019 03:00 PM

Words by Gianluca Filosi @GianlucaFilosi

Adelaide United Youth welcome Raiders to the VALO Sports Centre on Saturday as we reach the halfway point of the season.

The Young Reds will be desperate to end a three-game losing streak against a side they defeated 2-0 in the reverse fixture on the opening round of the campaign.

Raiders themselves have improved since then, however, occupying fourth spot on goal difference and have adapted well upon their return to the top-flight.

Despite coming up empty handed in their previous three games, utility Kristin Konstandopoulos believes they have played better than those results suggest.

“We haven’t had good results recently,” Konstandopoulos said, after United suffered a 1-0 defeat to Adelaide Blue Eagles in their most recent outing.

“But I don’t think we’ve been playing poorly at all.

“I think we’ve been playing alright on the ball, but I think defensively we’ve struggled a bit.

“But we still need to put away our chances as well and attack. We’re not playing bad, we just need to focus and forget about the losses and worry about winning our next game.”

As mentioned, Adelaide prevailed in their earlier meeting this season and Konstandopoulos is predicting nothing less than a difficult game.

The 20-year-old stressed the importance of collecting three points to remain in the top six.

The Gepps Cross outfit also thumped Croydon 5-1 last weekend following successive losses, but exited the quarterfinals of the FFA Cup SA in a penalty shootout defeat to Adelaide Comets on Wednesday night.

“First time we played them it was a hard game,” he said

“They were a good side and I expect them to be a good side again.

“So it’s going to be a tough fight but we can beat any team if we play well.

“… I think this week is a must-win for us, we needed to win last week but we didn’t so this week it needs to happen.”

Adelaide United Youth host Raiders Round 11 of the National Premier League 2019 season on Saturday, 25 May at VALO Football Centre – The Parks. Kick-off is at 3.00 PM. Reserves kick-off at 12.45pm.

MetroStars vs Para Hills Knights
Venue: TK Shutter Reserve
Date: 25/05/2019 03:00 PM

Words by Jason Cavey (MetroStars.com.au)

MetroStars are fresh off a disappointing FFA Cup penalty exit away to Elizabeth Downs (match report here). MetroStars were severely depleted missing 4 integral first team players. Matthew Dawber, Matt Charalambous gave the vistirors a two-nil lead but Downs hit back quickly before half-time. Downs fought back to go 3-2 ahead before Cooper O'Donnell, in his full debut for the club, equalised with 11 minutes remaining. Extra time could not separate the two sides so it went to penalties were Elizabeth ultimately prevailed.

Meanwhile Para Hills are coming off a decent 4-1 win at home to struggling to South Adelaide. Goals from Kochi, Sumaoro, Wilke and Marchioro give the Knights the win after they initially went behind to a Liam Wooding penalty.

Tim Henderson is now available for selection after coming on as a substitute midweek. Captain Michael D'Aloisio returns following a suspension. Tom Strain and Christian Esposito are unavailable through injury. Dylan Smith is likely to go straight back into the side after some recent health issues. Former MetroStars midfielder Darsem Shaksi will make his return to T.K Shutter Reserve.

Croydon Kings vs Adelaide City
Venue: Polonia Reserve
Date: 25/05/2019 03:00 PM

In our VALO Match of the Round, Croydon Kings welcomes Adelaide City to Polonia in a repeat of the FFA Cup tie that took place midweek.
