Nurturing Young Talent – FSA Inspiring Journey at the National Futsal Championships 2024

Football South Australia proudly represented the state at the National Futsal Championships 2024, where the focus went beyond victories on the court. The experience provided to our young athletes was not merely about the competition, but an approach towards their development, realising their potential, and emphasising the crucial role of futsal in shaping our athletes' future.

Our delegation, consisting of nine teams, comprised a total of 109 individuals, including athletes, coaching staff, coordination personnel, and physiotherapists. The participation of South Australia in this prestigious competition was not only marked by on-court excellence but also highlighted the outstanding behaviour of our athletes, the unwavering support from the families present in Gold Coast, and the impeccable organisation of the tournament.

Darryl Simon, the coordinator of the FSA delegation, expressed his enthusiasm, stating:

Our participation in the National Futsal Championships 2024 was a testament to the dedication of our athletes. Their exemplary behaviour both on and off the court showcased the true spirit of South Australia, results of the exceptional efforts of our coaching staff, team managers, physiotherapists, and everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. We are also grateful for the tremendous support from the families who traveled to Gold Coast, and the seamless organisation of the tournament made the experience even more memorable."

With teams competing in various age categories, including U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, and U17, encompassing both boys and girls, Football South Australia demonstrated its commitment to providing opportunities for young talents across the spectrum.

In addition to our impressive player lineup, three distinguished Match Officials — Jayden Betterman, Denis Palushaj, and Thomas Brinkworth—ensured fair play on the Futsal court. Special recognition goes to Jayden Betterman, who was deservedly elected the Young Referee of The Tournament. The dedication and expertise of our officiating team, led by Raymond Grima and Andrew Murray, contributed to the overall success of the event.
