Outcome Regarding Exemption Request - Return to Training – Step 2

2 June 2020

Football SA has this afternoon been notified that the exemption request to classify each pitch as a “place” has been approved.

The Chief Medical Officer has indicated, for the purposes of the exemption, an individual football pitch is considered as a “place” and as such applying the gathering and density requirements as per the Return to Training – Step 2 document, that 20 persons in each half plus coaches is acceptable across as many pitches as you may have at your venue.

The exemption has been provided based on Football SA, Associations, and Clubs meeting all other relevant direction requirements; and acting consistently with the agreed Return to Training – Step 2 document to ensure other measures for infection controls are in place.

Further to this, all Clubs are required to complete the CovidSafe Plan at: https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/recovery/create-a-covid-safe-plan

An updated ‘Football SA Return To Training – Step 2’ as well as ‘Return to Training Checklist’ is now available on our website.
