Anthony Frost, Western United's Academy Director since November 2021, has played a pivotal role in building the club's youth development program from scratch, overseeing the establishment of teams from Under-14s to Under-23s, the launch of a Junior Academy and Development Centre focused on local talent from Melbourne's west, and fostering a playing identity emphasizing aggression, creativity, and risk-taking. His efforts have yielded significant results, including promotion for the Under-23s, 14 academy players making professional debuts, and 13 signing senior contracts, with standout talents like Matthew Grimaldi, Oliver Lavale, and Rhys Bozinovski transitioning to the first team and earning national call-ups. Concurrently, Frost has expanded his influence nationally as an assistant coach for the Olyroos since September last year, drawing from prior experiences with the Socceroos and Young Socceroos to enhance player environments and bring learnings back to Western United.
