SA Power Networks Set to Empower Local Women’s Football Until 2025

Football South Australia is delighted to announce a new five-year partnership with SA Power Networks, that will see the state’s electricity distributor become the official partner of women’s football in South Australia.

Football SA’s relationship with SA Power Networks dates to 2013 whilst responsible for management of Adelaide’s Westfield W-League side, affectionately known as the ‘Lady Reds’.

The new partnership will further enhance SA Power Networks’ commitment to the growth of women’s sport, providing a connection from grassroots through to the elite participant, with a particular focus on the Women’s National Premier League South Australia (WNPLSA) Competition.

The SA Power Networks logo will be showcased on the sleeve of all teams participating in the WNPLSA, in addition to featuring across live stream coverage of the competition, including naming rights of the player of the match award.

SA Power Networks will also have a significant presence at the soon to be constructed State Centre for Football at Gepps Cross.

Football SA Chief Executive Officer Michael Carter said,

“As a football community we are delighted to welcome back SA Power Networks as a partner of our organisation. They join a growing list of prominent South Australian companies who support the growth and wellbeing of Football in the state. I would like to thank SA Power Networks for their support as we head into a very exciting time for the game in the state”.

SA Power Networks CEO Rob Stobbe said:

“The State Football Centre is a significant infrastructure investment which we are proud to empower, we look forward to seeing how these upgraded facilities support clubs and players to raise the level of their game”.

SA Power Networks Sponsorship and Events Manager Kylie Kerrigan said:

“SA Power Networks has proudly supported elite women’s football for many years now, and we are happy to extend this support across the grades. Empowering women in our own workplace, particularly in non-traditional roles is something we work on continually, and we are happy to reflect this with our support of the women’s footballing community”.

The 2021 Women’s National Premier League South Australia is set to commence on Friday 9 April.
