Round 2 of the Legacy Scholarship fund EOI opens 1st March 2024

The SAWSA and Legacy Women’s and Girl’s Leadership and Participation Scholarships have been established to support and promote the aims of the Football SA Women’s World Cup Legacy Plan, and in particular:

  • to provide support to women and girls to access development opportunities, and to develop and/or enhance specialist skills in areas specific to their leadership ambitions.
  • to provide financial assistance to girls to participate at all levels from grassroots to elite.

Awards will be made in each of the following two areas –

  • Women and Girls’ Football Leadership
  • Girls’ Football Participation. To be considered across two groups:
    • Financially or other disadvantaged Players –to assist with club fees.
    • Elite Pathway Players – to assist with travel and associated costs.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant must be a member of a club, association, or a registered participant within Football SA.
  • For participation scholarships, applicants must be <18 years of age.
  • If in Year 9 or younger, players applying for a participation scholarship must have applied for the $100 Sports Voucher via the Office for Recreation Sport and Racing.
