Six SA Officials at National Youth Championships

A contingent of six-match officials are in Coffs Harbour on Sunday for the 2019 FFA National Youth Championships for Boys, being held from Monday 30 September to Friday 4 October.

FFSA have selected four up-and-coming match officials to continue their development with some of the nation’s best referee mentors & instructors. In addition to showcasing the best young players from around the country, the tournament offers an opportunity for the best and brightest upcoming match officials to learn from A-League and W-League instructors.

Alexander Diamond and Cole Davy have been selected to attend the tournament for a second time, having excelled at the 2018 tournament. They are joined by Riley Cowan, who attended the National Youth Championships for Girls last year, and debutant Ian Crossing.

All four match officials selected have been refereeing consistently at NPL Under 18’s and Reserves level, and showed a high level of commitment to training and developing as match officials throughout 2019.

In addition to the four referees selected, FFSA will be represented by two instructors - FFSA Elite Coaching Panel member Nathan Magill, and Hyundai A-League referee Daniel Elder. Magill has been appointed as the Lead Instructor for the 2019 tournament.

It is exciting to be heading to the NYC for the first time, this will be a good opportunity to learn from some of the top officials and assessors in Australia.
