Vale Steve Leo

Football South Australia is saddened to hear of the sudden passing of Campbelltown City’s U12 JPL coach and Junior Technical Director Steve Leo.

A statement on the Campbelltown City SC Facebook Page reads:

It is with much sadness that we inform you of the passing of Steve Leo on Thursday the 2nd of July.

Steve has been a valued member of Campbelltown City Soccer Club since 2014 as a parent, coach, junior technical director and friend and will be sorely missed.

Above all else, Steve embodied all the values that CCSC seeks to represent. On a daily basis, he endeavoured to ensure that people saw CCSC the way he did. That it is a safe place, a place where kids can be themselves. He wanted it to be seen as not just a football club but a place everyone can call home.

There was no greater evidence of Steve's love for the club, kids and families than his big happy smile and a warm handshake.

Steve's giant heart will be greatly missed however his legacy will live on through the many lives and people who were lucky enough to know him.

Please keeps Steve's family in your thoughts during this difficult time.

The football community extends its condolences to Steve's family and friends at this time.

Vale Steve, and thank you for your valuable contribution to Junior football in South Australia.

RIP.
