Who Will Claim the 2019 Phoenix Cup

2019 Bedford Community Tournament - featuring the Phoenix Cup

The 2019 Bedford Community Tournament, featuring the Phoenix Cup, will take place on Saturday November 9 at Ladywood Reserve, Modbury North.

Running for its 11th consecutive year, the re-named Bedford Community Tournament will feature 14 teams, including representatives from various disability organisations such as Orana and Barkuma; as well as United Abilities and One Culture.

Established in 2009 by the Modbury Jets Amateurs Football Club, the competition was designed to provide individuals with disabilities the opportunity to participate in a football tournament.

Over the years, the event's success has continued and consistently developed.

Football South Australia will be more actively involved in the event this year, following a partnership that was announced with Bedford in early 2019.

The partnership between Football SA and Bedford has seen the commencement of a regular, organised inclusive football competition.

The Bedford Community Tournament, featuring the Phoenix Cup, will act as a platform to boost participation in the Bedford Community League, as it goes into its second season in 2020.

Football SA is now taking expressions of interest for individuals or teams who wish to participate in the 2020 Bedford Community League. To register your interest or for more information, please contact Jake Brindley on 8340 3088 or email jake.brindley@footballsa.com.au
