Adelaide City vs West Adelaide
Venue: Adelaide City Park
Date: 07/06/2019 06:15 PM

Adelaide City Park will host a top-of-the-table clash between Adelaide City and West Adelaide in a match that might define this year’s Premiership race.

Adelaide City has recorded some big results in recent weeks scoring a whopping 24 unanswered goals in their last three games. Scoring machines Chelsie Dawber, Dani Di Bartolo, and Yuka Sasaki are all averaging more than a goal a game this season.

City’s only loss this season was to West in Round 6 at West Beach. A Georgia Macri double fired West to a stunning upset 3-1 win but they’ve dropped some crucial points since then. With an eight-point gap between the two teams, the visitors may need a win to keep their chances of claiming top spot alive.
A huge match awaits tonight at Oakden between these fierce rivals.

COMvUNI

Adelaide Comets vs Adelaide University
Venue: West Beach Parks Football Centre
Date: 07/06/2019 06:15 PM

The pressure is well and truly on both Comets and University as the former sits just a point above bottom spot while the latter risks losing touch with the top four.

Comets have been unable to turn several competitive displays into points and while they come into the match after consecutive draws (with West Adelaide and NTC), they have only found the back of the net three times in their last six games.

Adelaide University looked on course for a second consecutive win last weekend as they led West for most of their match after Mawa Sumaoro gave them an early lead. But three late goals to West saw Uni fail to close the gap between them and 4th-placed Metro United.

With both sides struggling for goals, it could be a tight encounter in tonight’s first match at West Beach Parks though the last meeting between the two teams saw Uni record a 3-2 win.

Adelaide Comets line-up: 1. Tessa Touchette (GK), 6. Lisa Hurcombe, 7. Elise Garlick, 9. Victoria Mansueto, 11. Emma Wiltshire, 14. Rachel Hampton, 16. Sarah Chappel (C), 23. Caitlin Stalker, 24. FUvNTC

Fulham United vs FFSA NTC
Venue: West Beach Parks Football Centre
Date: 07/06/2019 08:00 PM

After three scoreless matches, Fulham has managed to net six times in their three most recent outings and that run has seen them claim two wins and move up to 6th on the ladder.

But their last game resulted in a disappointing 3-4 loss to Salisbury Inter in which they led when their opponents were reduced to ten players.

Despite only picking up their first point in four games last week, NTC could move ahead of Fulham with a win tonight, however, the young team has struggled to score in recent weeks despite some enterprising play. Speedster Emilia Murray – who has three for the season – might be the key to NTC ending their goal drought.

That will certainly happen if this meeting is anything like the last between the two sides – an entertaining 4-4 draw.

Fulham United line-up: 1. Matilda Comley (GK), 4. Natasha Vella (C), 5. Jenna Mccormick, 6. Josephine Trimboli, 7. Jessica Fulford, 10. Amielia Ebbs, 11. Sarah Hunt, 13. Hannah Jenkin, 14. Salisbury Inter vs Metro United
Venue: VALO Football Centre
Date: 7/06/2019 08:15 PM

Tonight’s only match at VALO Football Centre sees 3rd take on 4th with Salisbury Inter in the unusual position of starting a meeting with Metro as favourites.

And with Inter level on points with 2nd-placed West, they will be keen to keep the pressure on with another three points this evening.

Despite losing 0-9 to Adelaide City a fortnight ago, Inter has won four of their last five and will take great heart from their epic come-from-behind win against Fulham last week. Emily Condon has 13 goals from 12 matches this season and Esther Heywood-Smith is the perfect foil.

Three straight losses have put Metro in unchartered territory and their recent clash with City – which saw Metro 0-4 down within 22 minutes – wouldn’t have helped their confidence. But with so many experienced players, you wouldn’t count last year’s Premiers out just yet.

On the eve of the Women’s World Cup, this match sees Matildas cap number 100 (Kristy Moore) up against cap number 200 (Condon).

Salisbury Inter line-up: Courtney Mitchell, Ruby Smith, 1. Sian Mclaren (GK), 2. Melanie Comyns, 5. Esther M Heywood-smith, 6. Chantelle Ryder (C), 10. Emily Condon, 11. Nicola Frazzetto, 14.
