Metro United WFC vs Adelaide University

It’s 4th v 5th tonight at VALO as Metro United look to keep hold of 4th spot. A win for Metro will give them a 7 point breather over 5th placed Adelaide Uni, however a win for Uni will put them only 1 point out of finals contention with only weeks to play in the minor rounds.

Metro United enter tonight after a shocking 3-0 loss at the hands of Adelaide Comets last week but will boosted by the return of star player Kristy Moore. Moore has been nursing an injury since Round 11, however the team will be high in confidence knowing the experience she brings into the squad.

Adelaide Uni will be looking to pounce on Metro and show that their 2-1 over third placed Salisbury Inter last week was not just a once off. Adelaide Uni will look to climb into the finals contention and show their true strength with a magnificent line-up of players.

Comets v Inter R16

Adelaide Comets vs Salisbury Inter

Salisbury Inter look to continue their good season form and look to secure a top three finish for the first time. However in their way is an in form and confident Adelaide Comets. Comets are coming off an astonishing 3-0 win over the 2018 premiers of Metro United.

The Match at TK Shutter last Saturday night shows that Mansueto’s side has the skill to out play the experience of a squad such as Metro. Mansueto will look to the leadership of Georgia Johnson down back and Sarah Chappel up front to try and pull of their second upset in two weeks.

Inter will look to bounce back after a disappointing 2-1 loss at the hands of Adelaide Uni last week. Inter now only hold 3rd spot by 2 points and risk dropping to 4th spot. Something they haven’t done since Round 7 (Inter have only been outside the top 3 for 2 rounds this season).

Both previous encounters this season have resulted in 2-0 and 2-1 results in favour of Inter so they will look to continue their form this evening.

Adelaide City FC vs FFSA NTC

Adelaide City are the team that just can’t be stopped this season. they continue to hold a 5 point lead at the top of table and will look to gain on that with a win over bottom placed FFSA NTC in tonight’s first match at VALO Football Centre.

The NTC side have only scored 2 wins this season and will be out with fire to ensure they don’t remain on the bottom of the table for long. They will look to get themselves out of the relegation zone by an upset win over the reigning champions.

Adelaide City will look to continue their goal scoring phenomenon this evening. City have 3 of the top 5 goal scorers, with Dawber, Di Bartolo and (Yuka) Sasaki scoring a combined 50 goals for the Oakden side. With a goal difference of -23, NTC will be out to ensure their defence is strong.

For the first time in WNPL history, we go to Renmark to showcase the best talent in Women’s Football here in SA. Renmark Olympic Soccer Club play host to the Fulham v West Adelaide fixture this round on Sunday afternoon. Both clubs will be out to prove to the community that they are the best and showcase to them what Women’s Football is all about!

Fulham enter this encounter after a disappointing 8-2 loss to Adelaide City last week but are hoping a fresh and new environment can help them secure an upset over the West Adelaide side. They will have the star of Katherine Ebbs back in their side to help in terms of leadership and experience.

“Orange” we glad West Adelaide are in this fixture? Local girl Chrissa Pavlomanolakas and assistant coach Eric Sialas will get the chance to play out front of their friends and family as they get to play a WNPL fixture at “home” for the first time. West Adelaide enter tonight after an impressive 3-0 win over NTC last week.

FFSA are excited to be taking a Women’s game to Renmark to help celebrate 10 years of Women’s Football in the Riverland and FFSA, Fulham United and the Clubs are all looking forward to engaging with the local communities.
