Wordsworth joins the 300 club!

Football SA would like to congratulate Match Official Curtis Wordsworth on reaching 300 Senior Matches in his upcoming Match between FK Beograd and Campbelltown City.
 

Curtis becomes the Fifth South Australian Match Official to reach this incredible Milestone.

Curtis’ Senior Football officiating journey started in 2008, since then he has been a part of several Grand Finals locally and officiated on the Aleague as an assistant referee.  

His South Australian achievements include:

  • 2009 Young Referee of the Year
  • 2012 and 2013 First Division Grand Final Assistant Referee
  • 2021 State League One Grand Final
  • 2020 State League Two Grand Final
  • 2019 Women’s National Premier League Grand Final
  • 2011, 2012, 2014 Federation Cup Final Assistant Referee
  • 2022 WNPL and WSL Cup Final Referee

When reflecting on his upcoming milestone, Curtis said

“Reaching a milestone of 300 games is an incredible achievement. I’d like to take a moment to acknowledge and thank all those who have offered encouragement, guidance, and support throughout my journey, from family and friends to fellow officials and mentors. Every game presents its challenges and opportunities for growth, and I am grateful for the lessons learnt and the memories made along the way. Here's to the next 300 games and beyond.”


General Manager of Referee Education/ Training Michelle Smith showed her appreciation to Wordsworth’s dedication to officiating.

“Reaching 300 Senior games is a tremendous accomplishment for Curtis and a testament to his commitment to and love of officiating.  He has accomplished a milestone that only a few Match Officials have reached. Curtis is a role model and valued member of Football South Australia's officiating team, and we anticipate many more exciting games in the future”.
