Born in Adelaide in 1879 educated at St. Peters College and Adelaide University

Contributed to the game of soccer as a Patron, Ambassador and supporter of the game

Officiated as President of the South Australian British Football Association (SABFA) from 1905 to 1931 and was the first President of the Adelaide SC in 1904 was also Councilor, Alderman and Lord Mayor of Adelaide all between 1904 and 1932 and was knighted in 1922. He provided trophies, attended meetings and functions of the Association continuously for over 26 years.
