WHO IS SEDA?
Students complete Year 11 and 12 while immersed in the sport and recreation industry. SEDA combines expert knowledge with unrivalled opportunities for students to network and learn from some of the best in the industry. The experience at SEDA will provide students with the opportunity to develop professional and personal skills for a successful future.
SEDA aims to bring out the best in their students through their applied learning approach and by focussing on a student’s passion. There are four key areas that define SEDA’s approach:
- An individual approach for each student through our ‘one teacher’ to ‘one class’ model
- Learning directly from industry experts
- Getting outside of the classroom and learning by doing
- Placing equal importance on the development of key skills and personal attributes as academic outcomes

SEDA helps each student identify and work towards their career goals
At SEDA students undertake industry placement one day a week, providing students with a detailed understanding of the career they wish to pursue and provides them with genuine work experience that will assist them to transition into meaningful employment.
For students whose next step is university, SEDA has agreements with several universities throughout Australia which offer students a variety of pathway options.
SEDA promotes learning for life
SEDA believes that learning skills required for life beyond the classroom is essential in every student’s development.
SEDA aims to develop core skills and attributes including: leadership, resilience, critical thinking, integrity and compassion in every one of their students so that, regardless of the careers and situations they find themselves in, they will be confident, resourceful and good community citizens.
SEDA emphasises applied learning
SEDA uses its industry and community connections to make sure its students learn the technical and life skills that employers need and want. SEDA’s curriculum is centred around students’ interests and is tailored to meet individual needs while providing students with the 21st century skills required to be successful in the workforce.

SEDA students develop networks, learn directly from industry experts, gain entry to high profile venues and events, and work in and around established and respected organisations in the sport and recreation industry
WHAT TYPE OF EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES WILL STUDENTS BE INVOLVED IN AS PART OF THE FFSA SPORTS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM?
Students have the opportunity to be involved in a range of participation programs and events including:
· Working with and for the Football SA
· Working with and for professional teams in South Australia
· Professional football industry speakers
· Professional football coaches and administrators will share their experiences and share how you can improve your own game and that of others
· Current industry professionals will share how they came to work in the football industry
