Bendigo Bank Community Award Winners for March

Football South Australia is delighted to announce the March winners for the Bendigo Bank Community Awards. 



VOTING FOR THE APRIL AWARDS ARE NOW OPEN. NOMINATIONS CLOSE FRIDAY 7TH MAY. CLICK TO NOMINATE.



The awards program will see winners recognised each month within the following categories: 

Specific criteria is available for each award. The following criteria is relevant to all awards and nominees must:

  • Hold the relevant accreditation for the level they are coaching/officiating at
  • Be registered in Play Football to an affiliated Football SA Club/Association for the current season
  • Hold any other accreditations and/or licenses as required by Football SA
  • Have not received any current or significant suspensions implemented by Football South Australia.

Monthly winners will formulate the list of nominees for the below annual award categories, to be announced at Football South Australia’s official end of season awards ceremony (full details to be confirmed).

  • Volunteer of the Year
  • Coach of the Year
  • Referee of the Year
  • Club of the Year

Coach of the Month | Joshua Hill, Mount Barker United

Joshua Hill


Josh Hill has proven himself to be a great model for all coaches at Mount Barker United. Josh completed his MiniRoos Certificate at the start of the season in preparation for taking on the official role of MiniRoos Coordinator at the club. His friendly approach ensures he’s popular amongst the players, encouraging them to reach for the stars! He’s been the backbone of MBUSC when it comes to organising players into teams and is always willing to help fellow coaches around the club.



Volunteer of the Month | Paul Muffet, Stirling Districts Football Club

Paul Muffet


Paul Muffet is an invaluable member of the Stirling Districts Football Club and broader Adelaide Hills football community. He is recognised by his fellow committee members at SDFC as a dynamic, thoughtful and pragmatic contributor. When he’s not installing goals, helping in the canteen, chipping in at club working bees or performing duties as Child Protection Officer with the Adelaide Hills Junior Football Association, Paul even finds time to assist with coaching at the club.

Referee Of The Month | Jarrod Toohey

Jarrod Toohey


Jarrod is the type of match official who puts his all into every game he is appointed to, regardless of the age group or division he is officiating. His humble and calm approach to his duties helps him build strong relationships with players and coaches. Jarrod works extremely hard at referee fitness training, showing deep focus and a strong commitment to his development. He is always striving to improve on his performances, in the effort to continue moving up the referee ranks.



Club Of The Month | Sturt Lions Football Club

Sturt Lions Football Club is one of the largest and fastest growing clubs in South Australia, with 500 junior players, 100 senior players and more than 200 passionate and dedicated volunteers. The club is proudly represented by 47 teams of all ages and abilities. For a second consecutive season, Sturt will enter a team in Football South Australia’s inclusive football competition, the Bedford Community League, which recommences next weekend. With expansion of their girls and women’s teams, a successful return to the NPL for the senior men and exciting facility plans to bring their junior and community teams together, the club is well poised to continue serving the community well into the future.
