Football SA to host National Talent Development identification matches

Football South Australia is hosting Talent Development Matches on April 30th at ServiceFM Stadium as part of the National Talent Development Scheme (TDS). This initiative aims to create an elite environment for youth development, and identify talents across the country for continued monitoring.

The TDS is designed to address the need for a robust, equitable, and comprehensive talent identification and development framework in Australia. Taking onboard FIFA’s recommendations, Football Australia began streamlining its talent identification and development processes, with the aim of creating a world-class environment for youth development.

The Talent Development Matches are linked end-to-end with Competitions, Coach & Referee Education, and Youth National Teams. Data will be used to inform on reform, evolution, and development of resources, processes, and implementation of programs to increase player progression through National Teams and team success in international tournaments.

Football SA’s Technical Department has been actively identifying potential talent from across the state, including regional areas, schools, clubs, and elite programs. Approx. 28 promising players for both men's and women's matches, (Men’s = 2007 and 2008 born) (Women’s = 2004 - 2006) have been selected for the matches on 30th April.

In addition to the games planned for the 30th of April, FSA and FA will be working together to arrange other matches for different age groups later this year.
